Bird no. 345. If I could choose…

I’m in a bit of a transition point where I can choose a new direction, and I’m having a hard time deciding what I might do next.
.
When I see someone who is good at something, I want to do it too. When I meet a good cook, I want to become a chef. When I watch a talented dancer, I want to emulate them. When I see someone making cheese, I want a farm!
.
I want a little of everything. I just have to keep trying I guess. Hopefully the good stuff sticks, and may we all be greater than the sum of our parts ❤️

Bird no. 346. Separate ways.

With the family reunion behind us, we’ve all gone our separate ways home to separate lives. Some of us are welcoming a new baby, some looking for jobs, some starting fresh.
.
Going home always makes me question everything. Forever with one foot in the woods and one in the city, I wonder if I’ll ever feel really grounded.

Bird no. 354. Shoulda.

It’s hard not to feel resentfully towards the “shoulda” version of myself – the one who did everything she was supposed to do, and would have turned out much differently.
.
I jealously eye the imagined prizes of doing the right thing the first time, and I wish I was receiving them.
.
As I learn and grow more, I see how I eventually will BECOME the “shoulda” version of myself. I start to be able to see traps before I hit them, I can spot swindlers, I can more clearly see what’s most important as I get older.A work in progress, as always.
