Photo of the Day – The Gartered Trogon (Trogon caligatus) is a recent split from “Violaceous” Trogon, along with Amazonian and Guianan. The reason for the split was based off data on vocalisations and genetics. The species inhabits a number of primary forest types, as well as forest edge, plantations and mangroves.
