Bird no. 358. I DON’T GOT IT
.
I was feeling pretty ok this morning, and then I pulled the sheets off my brand new futon and discovered I had a MANY-LEGGED BEDFELLOW 😱😰
.
Just like that, it stirred up all my feelings about my landlord and how filthy the apartment was when I moved in, and I promptly lost emotional control of the situation. Anxious sweating, heart racing, cursing under my breath, I busted out the mop and got to work on the floor.
.
I thought I’d relocated all the bugs when I got rid of the soft furniture, but it seems like we’re still hatching over here and we’ve probably got a ways to go.
.
Huge thank you to the folks who work with these bugs who showed up in my DMs and told me about how cute they are.
.
Any time I can be reminded that something is lovable, it changes my perspective and I appreciate it.
.
It reminds me that I get to choose what I think and how I react when I see them, and that life will be easier if I look at them with a little tenderness.
.
On that note… please leave your dermestid love stories and poetry below, in case I wake up next to one again tomorrow 🤣
