Ringneck Pheasant
There’s pretty good evidence suggesting “five golden rings” is actually a reference to the yellowish rings around a pheasant’s neck or to “goldspinks,” an old name for a pretty little bird called the Goldfinch—not to the hand jewelry. And that actually makes sense, considering every other lyric in the first seven days of the song references a bird.

Hawaiian Honeycreeper
Hawaiian honeycreepers are small, passerine birds endemic to Hawaiʻi. They are closely related to the rosefinches in the genus Carpodacus. The group is divided into three tribes, but only very provisionally so. The wide range of bills in this group, from thick, finch-like bills to slender, downcurved bills for probing flowers have arisen through adaptive radiation, where an ancestral finch has evolved to fill a large number of ecological niches. Some 20 species of Hawaiian honeycreeper have become extinct in the recent past, and many more in earlier times, between the arrival of the Polynesians who introduced the first rats, chickens, pigs, and dogs, and hunted and converted habitat for agriculture.
Scarlet ibis (Eudocimus ruber)
The scarlet ibis inhabits tropical South America and islands of the Caribbean. In form it resembles most of the other twenty-seven extant species of ibis, but its remarkably brilliant scarlet coloration makes it unmistakable. This medium-sized wader is a hardy, numerous, and prolific bird, and it has protected status around the world.
Mating pairs build nests in a simple style, typically “loose platforms of sticks” of a quality sometimes described as “artless”.They roost in leaf canopies, mostly preferring the convenient shelter of young waterside mangrove trees. To attract a female, the male will perform a variety of mating rituals such as preening, shaking, bill popping, head rubbing, and high flights. Their distinctive long, thin bills are used to probe for food in soft mud or under plants.
Popularly imagined to be eating only shrimp, a recent study in Llanos has found that much of their diet consists of insects, of which the majority were scarabs and ground beetles.

Who IS that pretty bird?
The Grey-breasted Parakeet (Pyrrhura griseipectus) is a species of parrot in the family Psittacidae. It is endemic to Ceará in north-eastern Brazil and restricted to a few mountains with relatively humid forest and woodland in a region otherwise dominated by arid Caatinga.
Until recently, it was considered a subspecies of the White-eared Parakeet, as Pyrrhura leucotis griseipectus.
This parrot is classified as Critically Endangered by BirdLife International. It has an extremely small population and occupies a very small known range. The population is estimated to be less than 250 adult birds.

PLEASE

YOUR
BIRD
ALL
SEED
UNLESS
RECCOMENDED
BY
A
VET.And a vet shouldnt reccomend it.
Birds are foraging animals, and their diet only consists of maaybe 10-15% percent of seeds. The rest is fruits, vegetables, and other nutrious goodies. Seeds cause premature death in birds, and are really fatty. Its like, if all you drank was alchohol, and all you ate was McDonald’s Big Macs. This is really unfortunate to see, because the number one diet most pet/commercial stores sell/carry, are seed diets. Go to a store that specializes, is knowledgable on birds. Better yet, see if your vet will order the diet for you. My vet will do that. You can even look online. Most bird people will reccomend plenty of popular brands, I personally feed my Birds Zupreem Naturals. It looks similat to pet kibble, and they get foraging toys with other goodies they enjoy.
If your interested, Ill make a bird blog. Especially with what Im planning.
A raven in Germany plays with a twig: “All the corvid family – including crows, magpies and ravens – are very intelligent and like many intelligent creatures they learn and challenge themselves through play. At Slimbridge Wetland Centre we sometimes see whole gangs of crows using a stick for a game of tag. I’ve seen ravens flying upside down for no apparent reason, and I’ve even seen examples of raven leapfrog with a bird lying on its back whilst its mate repeatedly hops over it.”
