For your recent interest in sharing hybrids, this is a genus hybrid, zoo-born bird, the combination of a female Montezuma oropendola and a male red-rumped cacique. He is the unexpected offspring of these species from a free flight room, hatched in the drooping, woven nests oropendolas are famous for. Many characteristics carry over from both parents, presenting themselves in an almost even distribution of features from both; not as obvious in the pictures is a rusty red patch on his back, where the color matches the oropendola and the location matches the cacique.

365 Days of Miniature Birds by Nayan & Vaishali
These artworks are part of
Nayan & Vaishali’s 365 days of miniature series which started on 1st January 2018. They choose BIRDS as our topic of art. Each bird is made by cutting it in different layers on paper and than painted with water colors and hand assembled to give a final 2.5 Dimensional look. Each artwork took from 4-6 hours to finish.
