is a small Old World vulture and the only member of the genus Neophron. It is widely distributed, found from southwestern Europe and northern Africa to India.
I was playing with watercolors again and really wanted to paint some birds!
Featured Birds: Peacock, Blue Jay, Blue Bird, Hyacinth Macaw, Asian Fairy Blue Bird, Crowned Pigeon, Little Blue Heron, Blue-Throated Hummingbird, Parakeet, Blue-Footed Booby, Banded Cotinga, Lovebird, Blue Kingfisher
Some more of my inktober drawings! My first brush pen is already almost
dead (to be fair, it’s also ancient, so it may retire early) so I bought
another… the old pen will be used for “shading” since I can’t get
flow out of it any more.
Upchuck the black vulture (Chuck for short). Happy Halloween!
I’d never thought I’d say this, but that is a very cute vulture.
You might be surprised at how cute vultures can be! While Chuck is a little uncomfortable about large crowds, he is super cuddly with people he trusts and is a total ham for the camera. I’ve only gotten the chance to hang out with him a few times, but he’s very clever and a joy to work with!
(here’s the original post, plus another picture, so we can stop reblogging the repost)
