When I was in the Texas Wildlife Exhibit at the museum for the very first time I got to see the specimens of the extinct Carolina Parakeet and Passenger Pigeon and. The (I don’t have my hopes down) Ivory Billed Woodpecker along with the endangered Red Wolf and Attwater’s Prairie Chicken.
It made me kinda sad to see those two birds were wiped out long ago, Passenger Pigeons (millions of them) used to fill the skies which they were said to block out the sun for many minutes and Carolina Parakeets were all over in the eastern U.S.A. it makes me question how can a species so big be wiped out so quickly?
And these extinct birds will remain a reminder to conserve all endangered wildlife or else they will be gone like them….
todays bird is: this black vulture!
