the hyacinth macaw is a large parrot native to south america. the hyacinth macaw is the largest parrot capable of flight (the largest flightless parrot is the kakapo). their large beaks evolved to be able to efficiently crack a staple of their diet, palm nuts. the macaws are playful and loud, and live in tightly-knit flocks.

a hybrid between a blue and gold macaw and patagonian conure. while many assume macaws and conures are only distantly related, they are genetically similar and can sometimes interbreed in captivity.
