Can I request photos of your favorite pigeon breeds and colors?(If you have any specific ones) Also, maybe some of the more uncommon and lesser known breeds if possible too, if you can think of any? Sincerely, a follower who cannot get enough of one of their favorite birds.;_;

hmm…i admittedly know more about species than breeds. some of my favorites are:

archangel

love the metallic sheen of the feathers!! my favorite colors are black-winged copper and full black

barb

any color…i love their funky eye rings, they look like the centers of daffodils. i don’t necessarily encourage their breeding, much like pugs, but they’re lovely nonetheless.

lahore

my favorite color is probably brown and white or silver and white. very aesthetically pleasing birds altogether though

you all talk about how pigeons are ugly but can you do this

two white feral rock doves take a bath. while naturally rock doves are grey, escaped pigeons & lost racing pigeons joined feral flocks & added in various mutations with their bloodlines. now, in most places it is stranger to see a pigeon flock that is only grey.

bird of the day: lahore pigeon

the lahore pigeon is a domesticated breed of pigeon developed from the rock dove, named for lahore, pakistan. they are relatively large, and are mainly bred for show, though they are also found as pets.

lahore pigeons are sometimes described as ‘minamalist’ due to their appearance. the base color of a lahore pigeon is white, with a color (generally black, gray, or red) starting by the cere and swooping down the upperside of the body. this breed also has distinctive feathered feet and legs.

while they have been bred for their appearance, they are also known for their gentle and friendly disposition, and are generally regarded as good pets and peaceful members of a flock.
