Do you have any advice on battling ants? Every day when my birds make their mess after I give them their veggies the ants are everywhere it’s ridiculous I can’t take anymore! I spray vinegar water solution, I try to clean it up right away but no matter what I do the ants still come. I’m afraid to use pesticides even outside of the house. Please tell me you know something to keep them away!

ants are a huge pain in the butt around birds! 😦 to decrease the mess, i’d recommend tidy seed feeders (even for fruit/veg – they’re super easy to clean) and seed catchers. this won’t stop the mess by any means but it can help keep it a little more contained. you can also put diatomaceous earth near the ants’ entry point – it’s safe to have in the house with birds, however there isn’t really much research done on birds directly interacting with it, so try to keep them out of it.

Does your parrotlet dance? I have 2 and they won’t dance to music. I have only seen them on YouTube doing there mating dance thing.. anyway just wondering! 😊

my parrotlets unfortunately both passed away several years ago (but i think I’ll post a picture of them today, now that you got me thinking about it!), but yeah, they did love to dance! they learned how to change the station on the radio themselves, and they’d do that whenever there was a song they didn’t like, haha. they also both had a strange infatuation with chasing pavements by adele and wake me up before you go-go by wham! which could not be two more different songs… one of my boys was a bigger dancer than the other. he loved having us dance along with him!
