I believe I’ve fallen out of the bird loop — why are macaws controversial??
ah i probably made my response unclear! macaws aren’t controversial in themselves, but macaw hybrids are. there are concerns about the health of the hybrid offspring, as well as pollution of the limited captive gene pool we have.
Pleas post bat for April fool’s
haha, i’ll try to remember, remind me closer to april!
I guess other than corvids I would like to see some of the different varieties of macaw (scarlet, hyacinth, military etc) and maybe even some of the hybrids produced in the pet trade (controversial topic I know, but that’s part of what makes it interesting)
sure! i’d love to cover some more macaws. they are controversial, but i think they’re still worth talking about, as long as some of the concerns people have about them are addressed.
I love to see corvids on here. I know it’s not a new or interesting suggestion but I just live corvids.
i love corvids a lot. i’ll add some to the queue – expect to see them mid-October 🙂
Peregrine falcons got today’s bird? Any mutation, I just love them. I love your blog! It’s great, thanks for everything that you do!
sure!! i have a bunch of stuff queued so the post will probably show up mid-october. aww, thanks so much!
I’m not very sure if this i what you cover here on todaysbird, but if you do informational stuff about birds do you think you could post some about bird biology, and how it differs from that of a human’s? My bio teacher said that he took an ornithology class in college and said that there was a whole bunch of things birds evolved to do to enable them to fly, things involving circulation and breathing and stuff. Anyways, I hope this helps! <3
i’m going to be honest – i haven’t really done any of those kind of posts so far. however, i do find bird biology super interesting, so i’d like to try! i’ll try to have some biology related posts added relatively soon 🙂
maybe sun or green cheeked conures for bird of the day?
sure!!! 🙂
