Damn, this blog gives me enough live for my next five reincarnations, you’re doing such an amazing job here ❤ love the mix of entertaining, educating and just plain wholesome, pls never stop ! also, THANKS for all the pigeon positivity lately, as a person who takes care of them and has to deal with this fake af “dirty, plague wielding feather rats”-garbage a lot, this makes me super happy ❤

my smol feathery son loves the blog too and asks for maybe some swift content in the future, especially common swifts and white-throated swifts?

thank you so much! i really appreciate it, it’s basically just an outlet for me to obsess about birds without annoying people in my life. i love pigeons, they have a bad reputation but theyre really cool & beautiful birds! and thank you so much for submitting your little guy, he is absolutely precious!!! sure, i’ll add some swift posts to the queue 🙂

A: oh my god I love your blog, 10/10 content would consume again B: I’d be super interested in seeing any kind of aquatic birds, if you wouldn’t mind

thank you!!! 😀 sure! not sure what exactly you want to see – seabirds, waterfowl, etc? i have some puffins in the upcoming queue, and i’ll add some more friends that like to swim 🙂

I have a bird whom I love very much but I really want to get him to where I can hold him with the least amount of stress on him as possible.

hi! i’ve been in the same situation. i don’t know whether or not you can already handle him, but i’ll go over some basics.

if you can’t yet hold him, slowly introduce him to your hands ALWAYS with treats – typically sunflower seeds or millet. if he takes a seed from your hand, verbally praise him. eventually, make it so he has to physically step on your hand to get the treat. you may or may not want to use a clicker for this.

keep your hands from shaking. birds do not want to perch on an unstable person.

do not be overly loud when holding your bird.

remove excess stimuli from the room if your bird is nervous to interact with you. potentially frightening things like television noises or other pets should be kept far away while you interact.

oh gosh i only just started following but this blog is so great!! if you could do owls – specifically barn owls if possible, but owls in general are cool too – that would be so sweet!

absolutely!! i’ll add barn owls to the bird of the day queue, expect to see them somewhere between oct. 12th-16th!
