Are you an ornithologist or are you just a really big bird lover? Or both? Ps I really love your blog!!!!!!!!!
just a really big bird lover!! (though i plan on going into ornithology-related work!) Thank you! ๐
if you could do meadowlarks (particularly western, but both are amazing) that would be fantastic
of course! ill add them to the queue ๐
(Post suggestion) Oh, and theres a fenomenon of young birds compleatly losing their head feathers during their first molt, a young magpie lives on my roof and theyre just bald, i love them.
awww! yeah ive been considering posting some bald molts, ill have to get around to that
May i suggest eurasian magpies? Many people in europe think theyre loud and mean to other birds, but theyre so smart and sweet i just cant not love them.
absolutely! theyโre beautiful birds
Out of curiosity, since there are so many vultures today, if you had to identify Buzz Buzzard from the Woody Woodpecker cartoons, which species would you pick?
ah man. he doesnโt EXACTLY match any vultures…iโm guessing he was basically a caricature of the concept of a vulture, without any specific reference.
with that being said…i think he looks closest to a white-rumped vulture. or a really funky black vulture, but the ruff around the neck throws me off

hey idk how the submission works but can u make the banded cotinga the bird of the day someday
yeah!!! i love those guys
three words (five syllables): vampire ground finch
I HAD NO IDEA THESE EXISTED THANKS FOR ENLIGHTENING ME
