the ayam cemani is a completely black breed of chicken. ayam cemanis produce around ten times the melanin of a regular chicken. this causes them to be black – inside and out. the chicken’s tongue, organs, and flesh are all black.

the baltimore oriole is found throughout northeastern north america, with a wintering range in mexico and south america. males are bright orange and black, while females are more yellow-brown. orioles feed off of insects, fruit, and nectar, and will sometimes visit backyard feeders offering oranges, jelly or nectar.
the varied thrush is native to forests and farmlands in north america. related to the american robin, the varied thrush feeds mainly off of insects and berries. the males have a darker upper body, while in the females it is more brown.
birds make me nervous too ive always been afraid of em cuz of a run in i had w a crow as a child (not a violent one, a gross one. i was scared of birds cuz i associated them with disturbing germ ridden imagery) & i actually never got along w him OR our old quaker parrot, they both hated me & scared the shit out of me so i avoided them 100%. i only came around to rio bc i felt bad for him after his bird friend died & he became super lonely and super clingy and needy for attention. then he fell in bird love with me .. and i with him…..
