Blue tit/blåmes.

a leucistic house crow, native to asia, perches on a ledge. while it was once believed that parent crows kicked white offspring out of the nest, that myth has been found to not be true – while abnormally colored crows may face social rejection, that usually happens once they have left the nest. leucistic crows do face other problems – they are easier targets for predators, and typically have weaker eyesight and feathers.

Okay, head’s up. This little critter is called a slow loris. NEVER TAKE ONE AS A PET. They’ve experienced a boom in popularity as pets in parts of Asia and then the rest of the world, and this is not okay. Why?
A) They’re endangered
B) They’re venomous. The only known venomous primate, to be exact. They store it in their inner arms. They’ll get in defensive posture, suck the venom from their glands, and them bite. And the bite can kill a human. (Seriously, one nipped Lady Gaga in Feb 2014 when she thought it would be a good idea to use one in a music video. They dropped that idea, thankfully.)
C) They’re endangered directly BECAUSE OF THE EXOTIC PET TRADE
D) When the poachers trap them, THEY CLIP THEIR FUCKING TEETH TO MAKE THEM “MANAGEABLE.” Many slow loris’ will die before ever being sold because of complications with HAVING THEIR FUCKING TEETH CLIPPED. (There’s a reason the loris’ in the videos are only eating soft foods…)
E) The exotic pet trade on slow loris’ BOOMed because of youtube videos like the one above.
You wanna help these adorable looking critters?
International Animal Rescue: ‘Adopt’ a Slow Loris
And please make it very clear to everyone who thinks these videos are cute, that the animal in question has been stolen from it’s natural habitat and horrifically abused just so it could be a “cute” pet.

the eastern screech owl is native to the eastern portion of north america (the majority of their range is in the united states). they typically build their nests in hollow tree trunks, but may improvise in suburban habitats. the eastern screech owl has several color variations, such as rufous, gray, and brown, but all are the same species. (the bird pictured is a rufous morph.)

Coo Bird Hard Enamel Pins are now available for PREORDER on my Etsy!
This lil guy has been so popular on my Redbubble I figured it’d make a great pin design! I’m hoping to ship them out around early/mid December, but there are only going to be so many available so get your orders in now and prepare to become %100 cooler than you already were with the help of this bird and his ever so tiny skateboard!
If you tell me “x person you reblogged from is a huge bigot” and I say I’m sorry and delete it and then some time later you see me reblog something else with them in it, I promise it’s not because I don’t care or disregarded you. I have a terrible memory for names and I trend towards skimming the things I read and I miss a lot of information.
So please know I’m sorry and it’s not on purpose and I do care.
I hate to say it but this sounds like every domestic abuser I’ve ever seen on TV. I’m sorry, baby. You know I don’t mean it, won’t happen again…
….what? Like…actually….the fuck? Like I’m just curious about how you typed that out, looked at it and then went “yep, that seems like a good idea, I’m going to press a button and send this out into the world”?
My memory is so bad that it takes me a month of seeing someone for several hours a day every day for me to reliably recognize them and remember their name.
I see hundreds of unique screen names every week. I don’t remember them all. 6 months of pangur and grim crossing my dash daily had me recognizing the cats and their owner. 6 months of gam. 6 months for the people I chose to follow and see posts from every day.
So @bdub86 maybe rethink what you wrote keeping it in context of the format of this hellsite and that there are indeed people like myself in the bottom 5% with regards to memory recall.
I’m crying.
LMAOOOOOOOOO the screaming in the beginning
“mr. owl”
“oh jesus christ”
“please don’t give me that look”
“please don’t fly”DYING omg
That owl is 30000000% done
every time this video graces me with its presence i feel obliged to reblog it
This gives me great joy

the thick billed raven is a large corvid endemic to africa. thick-billed ravens are easily distinguished from other ravens by their massive beaks. like other ravens, they are opportunistic feeders, and will eat on carrion, small animals, insects, and more. they are considered by some to be the heaviest passerine in the world.
