evening grosbeaks, which share a family with birds such as cardinals and rose-breasted grosbeaks, are native to the northern united states & canada, as well as some populations farther south. in winter, the northern populations migrate to warmer areas. both sexes of grosbeaks have yellow on the body, but females’ is paler, and they are overall more brown.

Are there any particular common birds that do/don’t eat peanuts? Because I have a sack of them lying around and don’t know who to try feed them to help

yeah!! i’m assuming you’re in north america (if not send another ask and i’ll send an appropriate list!)

birds that Love peanuts are:

crows

jays

titmice

wrens

nuthatches

many other birds don’t prefer them to other food but will eat them, like:

chickadees

woodpeckers

bluebirds

there aren’t many who won’t eat peanuts, but they tend to be insect & fruit eating birds:

orioles

vireos

doves (sometimes they will take peanuts if they are crushed up)

mockingbirds
