i will never stop loving house finches. when i was young they built a nest outside my grandma’s window every year. we’d stand there and watch them grow up and they got used to us enough that they weren’t bothered by us standing and watching outside of the house, either. it’s really dumb but they always make my heart all fuzzy when i see them. very good birds

the rainbow bee-eater is the only member of the bee-eater family found in australia. the species gains its name from their diet consisting of insects, with a fondness for bees and wasps. bee-eaters are immune to bee stings, but rub the stinger against a branch before they eat to remove the poison.
